Personally I think the best type of bnc connectors are “two piece compression fitted” bncs. There are many benefits to using these type of bncs. Many security camera installers use crimp on or twist on bncs.
When using a compression fitted bnc it is a much tighter connection onto the rg59 or rg6 cable. You can literally pull on the cable and the bnc and they will not become disconnected. When moving the dvr or messing with the connections you will have little or no video disturbance.
Many installers use twist on or crimp on because they have never used compression fitted bncs before. You also have to have the correct tool and know how to use it.
